Malabar Riverhead

Situated in the heart of the village, Malabar Riverhead opened its doors in December 2015 and was immediately embraced by the friendly locals desperate for some decent coffee on their doorsteps.

Our biggest shop with 50 inside seats, Riverhead attracts customers from far and wide, with some of our regulars coming from as far away as West Wickham and Sidcup for their caffeine fix.

Its close proximity to local schools and Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve makes us popular with dog walkers, families and people working from home, all keen for a Malabar pick-me-up to get them through their day.

GOOD TO KNOW:

PARKING: There is on-street parking directly outside the café, limited to two-hours. If this is not available, the nearest pay-and-display car park is at the Miller and Carter restaurant a three minute walk away (located at Amherst Hill, TN13 2EN). If you choose to park in the Tesco car park, please note that there is a maximum time limit. Please check the Tesco website for details.

DISABLED ACCESS: There are no steps at either of the front entrances to the shop. The front doors are narrow but can allow wheelchairs through. There is a small step leading to the toilet so we are unable to offer toilet facilities for wheelchair users.

BABY CHANGING FACILITIES: available

FAQs

  • Yes and no! We do not accept cash at our Riverhill site, largely due to the remote location. Not only does it significantly increase the cost of our insurance if cash were to be kept on site, but also limits our access to banking facilities.

    However, we DO accept both cash and card payments at our shops in Sevenoaks and Riverhead.

  • Our shops in Sevenoaks High Street and Riverhead are open 7 days a week, closing at 5pm every day. We open at 7.30am on Saturdays and week days, 8.30am on Sundays.

    Malabar at Riverhill Himlayan Gardens is open Wednesday to Sunday and every bank holiday, from 10am to 5pm. We are closed during the winter, from November to mid-March. Please check the Riverhill Himalayan Gardens website for details.
